Freaky Friday continues to receive very high ratings, not just because it is funny and entertaining, but because it touches something deep within every viewer, young and old.  This is Walt Disney's remake of the 1976 film where a mother and teenaged daughter discover they have switched bodies magically.  Then the lessons begin.

When we becomes too rigid in our thinking (at any age), our world reflects that and we forget about the simple joys in life.  Life becomes a daily, monotonous routine.  We forget why we came to the planet in the first place.   A wise master once told us we must become as little children, since they often have the answers on living life fully and joyfully.  If we allow them to, children can teach us much about where we need to be and the importance of play.

In this film, by switching bodies, both were able to see what they could not "see" before.  The bodies are not so much important as the person inside, the real person.  Much can be learned and understood when we try to put ourselves in another's shoes.  In this way, we find compassion and it is easier to appreciate the other person as the Divine being that they are, no matter what the relationship is.  It is all about the power of Love.  Freaky Friday addresses these issues and more with a lot of humor and fun.  This is a movie that everyone can enjoy.

This movie is an interesting picture in that it identifies the reality that there are far more things going on behind the scenes than people are aware of.  Technology has long since been far advanced beyond what the general populace has known about.  Even now secretly developed technology is years ahead of what is revealed to the general populace.  Movies like LXG (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) is another example in the lineage of movies that attempt to open our eyes to the fact that life is not what it seems.  

You know one of the easiest ways to fool someone is to give them something with just enough diversion in it to lead them off course.  And that has long been the practice of the "establishment" in my opinion.  Once the ground work of false thought pattern is laid down it is easier to keep people deceived. It takes a lot more work to convince someone of the truth once a lie has been established as the truth. If you have bought into the lies that we have been conditioned to believe as truth, it is hard to change gears and recognize the truth.    

So when you view a movie like the LXG, that in my opinion reveals a great deal of truth and opens the mind to what may actually be going on in the world, it is viewed by many as a fantasy venture a little to removed from reality.   It is thus dismissed as unimportant and the true meaning and information of the movie is overlooked.  Secondly, by hiding this movie in the midst of a number of other fantasy adventure movies and making it similar in content to the other movies the truth can be told but without a big box office draw because it is a little to similar to some of the other movies of the summer.  Again a way to camouflage the truth.  

The reason I am going on about this point is because I believe there is a requirement to reveal the truth to the population before they can attempt to violate free will clause of personal sovereignty.  As a sovereign being the truth must be told to you before action can be taken against you.  Of course if the truth is presented in a way that you dismiss it as a lie then that is not someone else's issue it is yours.  And you have no recourse for you were given the truth and chose to believe a lie instead.  

A key point to realize is that quite often truth is presented with just enough of a twist to make it appear to be unreal.  This is just the case in point with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.  Not many will see this as a plausible possibility in our history.  Why really now how could anyone begin to think that our history may actually contain stories of secret organizations that have been attempting to manipulate our past and some even may have succeeded at the manipulation of our world.  Why to suggest just such possibilities is ludicrous.  Or is it?  

Mark Twain once said and I quote "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; truth isn't."  Think about it before you dismiss this movie as just some deluded fantasy dreamer gone astray.

I felt a great deal of truth and information were hidden in the movie.  I am not suggesting that this is our true history but, I do feel there are a great deal of things going on behind the scenes that the general public does not know about in our past, as well as our present time.  Some suggest that this movie is a copy of the other action movies of the recent past.  And this may be true, but look deeper an I believe one finds a message that will open your mind to a different view of the world.  On the surface governments may not appear to be connected at all but contrary to popular belief the governments of this world are much more in bed with each other than they are willing to admit to at times.

I very much enjoyed the movie and recommend that one take the time to go see it.  There are many things in this world and creation that are not even dreamt of by the human race.  The details of the movie I leave for you to discover.  It is time we all started to discern the truth in life.

Healing Habits

A Prescription to Laugh: Healing Through Humor And Laughter

King Solomon gave us one of the earliest recorded accounts regarding the healing power of humor and laughter. In the 1300's, surgeon Henri de Mondeville reportedly told jokes to his patients in the recovery room. In the 1600's, educator Richard Mulcater recommended laughter for those suffering from head colds.

Throughout the centuries court jesters have been hired to relieve the royalty's stress from governmental duties. Perhaps the most insightful recording of the benefits of laughter and humor healing came from Dr. Norman Cousins in his book, Anatomy of an Illness as Perceived by the Patient.

Laughter And Humor Can And Does Enhance Our Overall Well-Being

In 1964 Dr. Cousins was diagnosed with a crippling and extremely painful inflammation of his body. With his physician's assistance, he checked out of the hospital and into a hotel to utilize as many natural resources as possible to treat his condition. His experience became a controlled study in pain management and overall healing.

Dr. Cousins had a strong will to live and knew if he focused on love and faith, he could generate positive emotions. He decided to experiment with laughter to create a positive factor in altering his body chemistry to be in a healing mode. Dr. Cousins systematically watched Candid Camera classics, Marx Brother films, and read books like E.B. and Katharine White's Subtreasury of American Humor and Max Eastman's The Enjoyment of Laughter. He later wrote, "I made the joyous discovery that ten minutes of genuine belly laughter had an anesthetic effect and would give me at least two hours of pain-free sleep." He recovered from this condition and spent the next 20 years teaching about the merits of laughter and humor in healing.

"Me, Funny?"

Earlier in my career when presenting information on laughter therapy, it was my intention to be known as a laughter specialist, not a comedienne or a humorist. If people said, "you speak about humor." I would defend my position, "No," I would start, "I speak about the benefits of therapeutic laughter." "But, you're funny!" I would hear in return. "You're a humorist!" So purist was I in my thinking, that the idea of people finding my presentations educational AND humorous escaped me.

What I now appreciate is that often I connect with someone through shared humor, or I connect with someone who simply hears my laugh and readily joins in laughing with me.

What are the Differences Between Laughter and Humor?

Laughter is innate, and you are born with your giggles. You have unique sounds of laughter. Your laughter may sound similar to another's laughter, but your sound is brilliantly yours. Laughter exists on its own merit. You do not have to "get the joke," hear a story, or decipher a code in order to laugh.

People are surprised to learn that I do not tell jokes, yet I laugh every day. Sometimes I get requests to tell jokes, and I offer to just start laughing instead. I enjoy a good joke, but I'm a terrible joke-teller.

Humor is the interpretation of what you perceive as funny. Your sense of humor begins forming during your early life lessons of what is appropriate to laugh about or inappropriate (such as ridicule or teasing). Once the perception is processed in your mind, then your mind informs your body to push the laughter button and let your laughter sounds begin.

For some people who find laughter difficult, humor can be the jumpstart to finding their brilliant sounds of laughter. Paul McGhee, Ph.D., author of Health, Healing, and the Amuse System: Humor as Survival Training, (Kendall/Hunt, 1999) suggests that some people need to surround themselves with humor through comedy clubs, television shows, or friends who are identified as having "a great sense of humor." By doing so, Dr. McGhee contends that people will connect with humor and then enjoy the laughter that follows.

When I tell stories in my presentations, most audience members will connect with my humor and then laugh. But, occasionally someone comes up to me saying; "I just wasn't with you today." All that means is that their humor did not connect with mine, which leads me to another subtle difference between laughter and humor.

Humor Cannot Always be Shared

Laughter is energy that can be shared because there is not a stimulus that has to accompany it that is inclusive of others. Humor however, is subjective and not always shared.

Did you laugh at the last joke you heard? Have you been on the receiving end of a practical joke? Did you laugh? Do you enjoy certain television shows that other family members despise? Do you laugh uproariously at a commercial to find your friend looking over at you in dismay?

In summary, laughter is innate and can be shared. Humor is learned and isn't always appreciated by more than the interpreter. There has to be an intellectual connection as well.

How Can You Use Laughter and Humor for Healing?

For the purpose of applying laughter to your daily life and the healing of your mind, body and spirit, think of humor as the brain waves jumpstarting your laughter.

Become aware of what you interpret as funny. For example next time you purchase a card, discover which ones elicited laughter. Read cartoons, bumper stickers, billboard signs to enhance your awareness of what generates laughter. When people tell stories, pay attention to how you felt afterwards. Did you laugh? Reflect on which radio, TV shows or movies make you laugh. Armed with this new awareness, use the tool of humor to induce laughter for your health, healing and general sense of well-being.

Finally, spend time daily practicing laughing out loud. Maybe smiling first, then leaning into a giggle, then outright belly laughs. Now move beyond thinking about laughter and humor. Go ahead . . . it's safe . . . you can do it…ready, get set, laugh!

The Need To Relax

Rest and sleep help overcome fatigue and restore energy to the body. Everyone needs rest and sleep but the amount required differs for each individual. Most adults require about 7 to 81/2 hours at night. Young children may need more sleep at night besides a daytime nap. Everyone often has trouble getting sleep. Insomnia indicates physical or emotional disorders. Rest and relaxation are as important as sleep. After strenuous work, a person may need a period of rest and at others he may require just relaxation or a change of place. Pleasurable and relaxing activities helps the body to shed tension and remain robust. If rest and relaxation do not relieve fatigue and tension, the individual may have a physical or emotional problem. Exercise helps to keep the body healthy and fit. Vigorous exercise strengthens muscles and improves the function of the circulatory and respiratory systems. To achieve fitness, a person should start an exercise programme slowly and build it up gradually to a level that maintains a healthy heart and strong muscles. Daily exercise provides the greatest benefits. Health is a state of physical, mental and social well-being. It involves more than just the absence of disease. A person who is in good physical condition has the strength and energy to enjoy an active life and withstand the stresses of daily life. Proper nutrition, exercise, rest and sleep, cleanliness and medical and dental care are essential parts of hygiene. Handling stress is essential for avoiding both mental and physical illness. No one can avoid stress but a person can do a few things to helps lessen the danger of becoming ill due to stress. Regular exercise and sufficient sleep strengthen the body’s resistance to stress. Everyone should learn to relax by resting, taking a walk, meditating, working with a hobby or by another method that is found successful. Discussing a problem with a friend, relative or other person sometimes helps relieve stress.

Relaxation
Stress is the spice of life Without stress, life would be dull and boring. When you are tense your speed increases, your reaction time becomes shorter, you are able to finish your work with a timebound precision. Your job will be a challenging one. It is when you fix goals. To reach them in time strive hard. With every goal achieved you become stronger and are able to reach higher targets.

A nagging wife is a good wife because she keeps you tense and compels you to finish important work in time. Tension is good for students to keep themselves on their toes. They strive to do their homework and study properly and secure good marks. A little tension slowly becomes bigger tension, a temporary tension becomes a permanent affair. When a nagging wife starts nagging for little things, all the time, and lets you not to live in peace in your own house, when a student is goaded by his parents to higher ambition or to get distinction marks, that is the time of tension. This is more so in the case of a student who is not very bright and in fact not capable of achieving much in studies. If you set high targets, which are not within your ability or something that may take a lifetime to complete and you are still not sure whether you will be able to cope with them, your tension increases.

Tension keeps building up. It is like your bank account, if you are lucky, you keep on depositing money. Slowly, steadily and gradually it swells into a big account, when you will be able to buy a car, a scooter, a fridge or TV or build a house. Tension keeps on mounting in the same way gradually and steadily if you are not able to find a solution to your problems. It gets deposited slowly and gradually in your account. You are aware of your bank account building up, but may not be conscious about your tension building up in the body. There is no accurate measuring scale to know how much exactly your tension account is and how much has been deposited in your body bank. A small tension is spice, but too much tension becomes poison for your existence. An elderly well-wisher advised me at an important juncture of a prolonged stress, I was passing through : "Dreaming is good as long as you can fulfill your dreams, but if your dreams are big and you cannot reach them in spite of your best effort and resources they will fill you up with frustration".

Some stress for a small duration does not harm the body, the changes which comes in the body during stress, return to normal when it is over. In other words ambitious persons who have no perspective of their own limitations, believe they can do it all. If they fail to achieve their desired goal, they refuse to settle for the second best.

We call this nervous tension. It can create a havoc in the body. A saying in Hindustani goes : "Chinta jwal sharir me Dawanal Lagi Jaye" (when you are dead your body is kept on a pyre to be burnt, but in life, tension burns you while you are still alive.)

Tension is part of our modern living. It is a product of industrialization and materialism. This has already come in a big way in Western countries. As the speed of life increases, it builds tension with equal speed. As the struggle for existence increases so does tension. When you find it difficult to get a job, or set up a business, when there is difficulty in getting a house, or admission for your children in a school, there is cause to become tense. You exhaust yourself in collecting the basic necessities of life. This plight goes on all the time even during an emotional adjustment with your family members, how far can you come up to their expectation. This comes about also in competition with your relatives, friends, your neighbors. Trying to keep up with the Joneses, you tend to show off what you are not and crave for appreciation and prove yourself bigger than you actually are. All this is capable of generating unhealthy tension.

Let us go back 30,000 yours to the times of our ancestors. They lived and struggled for food and shelter. Imagine their existence. What is the setting? Entering a forest clearing, if a hunter suddenly comes face to face upon a ferocious and hungry tiger looking for his prey, confrontation takes place, their eyes meet. The body becomes tense the man feels the accelerated pounding of his heart, blood pressure rises, the mouth becomes dry, sweat appears on his brow. Breathing hard and thinking fast, man has to make a decision. Stand and face the animal and fight to death, or turn around and run into the thickets. Evolution has equipped us to react to a stressful situation physically.

As the body receives stress signals, the concerned nerves begin their work to stimulate the pituitary gland. This is the master key gland which in turn stimulates other glands to secrete a hormone called adrenaline. This is a substance which excites all the body systems. With a racing heart and fast breathing, more oxygen is pumped into the blood raising blood pressure and pulse pressure. With a shaky stomach man is in readiness to fight or run. If the stress subsides, these response die away. The body is released from tension and returns to a state of equilibrium. Thus an athlete after his event comes back to a normal state. His body reaction subsides and no harm is done to the body. Same thing happens to a student who has to undergo an examination. Or a job seeker who goes for an interview.

What happens if a person is all the time in a condition of high stress. It is then that the body does not come back to the post-stress normal physiological state. This is the time which is fraught with danger. Now when we are not obliged to fight or flee we may get a palpitation sitting at our desk. A constant panic turns itself into a situation which gives rise to clammy hands, a racing pulse, high blood pressure, stomach hypersecretion, a nervous system that goes hay-wire. Instead of improving the performance under stress, we reach a point where greater pressure is actually counterproductive and can result in physical breakdown. We may then feel restless, tense, irritable or depressed. We may suffer from loss of appetite, insomnia, extensive fatigue and a loss of sexual potency.

During the 1970s there was considerable research into the relationship between stress and disease particularly regarding stress and cancer, heart disease, diabetes, peptic ulcer, tuberculosis, eczema and asthma. Headaches caused by tension affect an estimated 15 million Americans, while high blood pressure affects 20 million.

A lady was suffering from diarrhea, but neither medicine nor a change in the diet could help her. Ultimately, she was put right by a psychoanalyst. A problem so obscure, so remote, so different can be due to tension. The modern medical world is agreed that the mind or in-built tension can play a dominant role in all diseases and a major role in 60 percent of all diseases. To live in this world facing all challenges, hearing all misfortunes, and to overcome the prevalent greed and jealousy you need to be relaxed and have a clear mind. Greed and jealousy are the root causes of all mental and physical diseases. See that they do not enter your mind. Forty years ago people were dying of cholera, small pox and plague. The scene has now changed. More people are dying of heart attack, blood pressure, cancer, and diabetes. It is the reward we pay for the so-called progress, industrialization and for getting more affluent.

The Atherosclerosis Research Centre in the U.S.A. tried an experiment to find out how stress could induce heart attacks. They took two groups of animals and fed them on low fat and low cholesterol diet and matched them for their body weight and blood pressure reading. For one group they made living very stressful by putting them in cages to break up their normal sort of way. At the end of the experiment, 21 months later, it was found that the stressful group was suffering from serious signs of fatty deposits in their arteries. This happened when both the groups were kept on a healthy diet and at a normal weight. This experiment has proved that there is definite evidence that heart disease is induced by stress. If this is true of monkeys, our pre-historic ancestors, it must be true of us.

Following an earthquake in 1981, in Athens, the incidence of fatal heart attacks rose sharply. The heart stress connection is too powerful to be ignored. Who does not remember the awesome Bhopal tragedy when over 2,500 people died due to gas leak! A survey conducted by the Indian Council for Medical Research and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience showed that 22 percent of the screened population were suffering from mental disorder. The severe emotional crisis in the people was due to conflict and guilt and not due to the nature of the disaster. In the panic situation, many adults are known to have run away without ensuring the safety of their family members, women, children and elderly people. Later this caused a feeling of guilt in them being those who were left behind they died. Many found difficult to adjust to bereavements, material loss and disability.

In a survey among 205 children of a school, 68 percent had difficulty in keeping up with the studies after the tragedy, 48 percent of them had been rendered unconscious by inhaling leaked methyl isocyanate gas. An elderly woman from a colony adjacent to the Union Carbide factory could not speak or hear after the accident. Yet physically there was nothing wrong with her. Only after psychiatric help both her hearing and voice came back to normal.

Sometimes in stress, the morale of people rises high, their cohesion and unity helps them to rise above their fears and overcome the extreme periods of distress most successfully. During the second world war, the people of Britain showed extreme sense of cohesiveness, according to psychologist Irving Janis. The fear reaction subsided within 15 minutes after the end of the air raids. The people paid less attention to the sirens. They were apprehensive actually only when they heard the noise of bombs and aircraft. Business would resume in a short time after the raid.

The citizens of Hiroshima also showed tremendous resilience, though the destruction, death injuries, illness caused by this tragedy were unprecedented. The extent of the adverse effects was astonishingly small in intensity. Within 3 months of the attack 140,000 people returned to the city. Israeli sociologist Aaron Anthonovsky claims that 25 percent of those who survived the tortures of the concentration camp did so without succumbing to psychiatric disorders despite their long years physical suffering under constant fear of death and terrible atrocities.

The unity, the moral support to each other, the great social admiration turned them into heroes. They could all join together to fight their common fear and the enemy. Who does not remember the great tales of the morale rising high, and instances of bravery and strength displayed during the days of India-Pakistan War? A weak politician in the face of scarcity, of general grievances, upheaval and fears of disintegration is known to exercise control over everything by waging war against the enemy.

In the medical college in 1959, in Kanpur, one day in the early hours of the morning, we were taken to Central Jail, to witness a hanging. Three brothers had wiped out a whole family in a land dispute. One was given imprisonment for life and the other two were to be hanged that morning. It was dawn and we were standing at some distance from the hanging area. We saw the two condemned brothers coming with policemen. One of them was walking straight and looked fearless. The other was not able to walk. His legs were trembling and he was full of fear. He was being supported by two policemen. They were brought to the hanging platform. The first person stood in the spot where he was told to. The second accused was begging to be pardoned. The first one uttering Ram Ram Ram placed himself firmly on the platform called the hangman and asked him to inform him as he pulled the handle to make the platform fall so that he will be able to say Ram for the last time. Hindus believe that if you call God’s name just before death, you go to heaven. Black covers were put on their heads and the loop, put round their necks. Moments later, the hangman pulled the handle and both the brothers were swinging by their necks over the ditch below. There was not even a tremor in their bodies. Both were dead. Of course, the hangman did not warn them before he pulled the handle. It is believed that this is the most painless methods of execution than the electric chair or a firing squad.

Both brothers had committed the same crime and had the same punishment. But one remained strong and ready to face the end, the other got weak in the face of death. One’s own temperament is important in the face of severe stress. A few can take big stress easily. Others may crumble under much smaller stress. A number of interviews were conducted with the survivors of Nazi concentration camps to determine how they had been able to survive and cope with stress.

A few of them told an investigator that they survived for a purpose : to help a relative, to bear witness and show the world that happened to them or seek revenge. A lady developed the delusion that the soldiers who were raping and abusing her were devils incarnate and that one was above their assault. Some inmates focused their attention to small gratifications such as getting through the food line.

Humor also plays a great role in the survival process and there are a few who can keep up humor in the most difficult circumstances. A man in front of a firing squad was asked, if he would like a last cigarette, he refused saying, "No thanks, I am trying to give up smoking". Both laughter and tears seem to release stress. Bulman and Camille interviewed 29 people suffering from paralysis caused by different types of automobile accidents, or a fall or by injury in the football field.

A few were coping better than others. The fellows who were doing well were those who accepted reality and tried to deal with it positively. Others were coping poorly, particularly those who denied to themselves the knowledge, the extent of the injury and expected to get well miraculously. Some thought it was in their fate, felt helpless and were unable to develop control over the future. Patients who felt responsible for their injury also felt responsible for their recovery and were coping better.

In one study some 30 percent of the women who had undergone mastectomy (removal of the breast after cancer) were in an upset mind even five years after the operation. Some 26 percent of the rape victims did not feel that they had recovered from assault even four to six years after. Studies of widows revealed that 25 per cent of them felt sufficiently distressed in the first two years after the death of their husbands. In another study 40 percent of the bereaved continued to experience anxiety even two to four years after the loss of their loved ones. Vietnam combat veterans had a high rate of mild to severe depression and anxiety.
In "Death and Dying" that an individual must face up to death by going through a sequence of reactions like denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. When there is a constant fear of terrorist attacks or war or uncertainty of political and social upheaval, there may be need for denial in order to feel better and maintain hope and sense of self-worth. Denial dampens the idea and feeling and allows an individual to adjust gradually to unpleasant circumstances. A weak and helpless victim of polio, burns, or spinal cord injury often uses denial at first in order to cope with stress in the early stage. Later they begin to rehabilitate and shift to move direct means of coping with stress. It can be destructive at times, when women deny the significance of lumps on their breast, or men experiencing heart attack deny the significance of pain.

Coping With Stress
When we want to release tension, we prefer to go to a serene, calm and secluded place, a sleepy atmosphere where there is no rush. Noise, high living, the rush on the roads and pollution add to tension. This is what happened to an isolated village, in the Swiss Alps, called Saas, which was a sleepy, calm region. A road was opened and overnight it became a tourist resort, in 1957. By 1970 over 250,000 winter tourists and 500,000 summer tourists were invading this once secluded area. Now it has a 10-months long tourist season. The local people worked long hours each day, seven days a week. As the economy developed, major changes started taking place in this remote village. In the last 20 years of boom, the family ties have weakened. Parental involvement in raising children has become less and less. Some of the pernicious habits of the visitors have been adopted. The use of alcohol and drugs has increased. The gap between older and younger generation is widening. This rapid social change has taken its toll among adults, leading to cases of chronic fatigue, irritability, insomnia, ulcers and high blood pressure. Alcoholism is increasing among the young and women. Divorces and mental illness are the rule of the day.

The affluent countries of the West are the greatest sufferers of tension. Westerners who were learning yoga invariably said that yoga gave them peace of mind. Why is it that U.S. Presidents tend to live longer than Vice Presidents? The most powerful man of a most powerful country of the world whose finger controls the nuclear button fares better than his deputy. The answer is simple. The President has the final decisive power, he is master of the situation and can overrule, anybody but cannot be overruled. He is a more successful man. Success Promotes longevity, gives you something to live for. Middle managers are more stressful, they are the persons who are trying hard but still do not reach the executive summit.

William Sargent, a celebrated U.K. psychiatrist, recognized that the ability to cope with various stressful situations varied from person to person according to their temperament. He found that persons who were well adjusted and had a settled, happy outlook on life were likely to hold out longer than those who did not possess this asset. You cannot avoid stress. Like food, exercise or love you have to have it. But you must also be able to know the optimum stress level that you can bear.

Of course knowing this will help you to know when you are in the danger zone of stress-related diseased. You must be firm to make adjustments to lessen your personal susceptibility. Avoid getting overtired. Ensure enough good quality sleep and develop the ability to say no and admit your limitations. Women live longer than men. Japanese women are supposed to live the longest, their average life expectancy of 79.1 years, compared with 73.8 years for Japanese men.

Do women respond to stress differently? Researches have found out that they manifest less biochemical activity than men in response to stressful and challenging situations and also tend to unwind more quickly. There is the case of a woman who worked until her 100th birthday and could see well enough to be able to read and watch television without glasses till her death at the age of 113. Her simple rule for longevity was " Attend to your business".

What happens when a woman takes upon herself the role which was normally or traditionally associated with men? Women students doing engineering have displayed hormonal stress reactions more similar to those of men than of those of women who followed a more traditional women’s academic path. Whether the new found liberation will prove detrimental and make them more prone to coronary heart diseases and ulcer is something that is being looked into.

When you have a very high ambition which you know you are incapable to achieve in your lifetime you are likely to be tense. It will be a taxing period for you and the slow pace of your attempts of achieving your end will fill you up with frustration. Divide your goals, keep targets which you can fulfill at shorter periods. Every target you achieve will increase your strength and make you more confident. A person who has confidence in himself is a relaxed person.

Noise pollution and population explosion tell on the nerves. Jostling in crowded trains and buses, to and from your place of work, wheeling through frustrating traffic jams and imbibing exhaust fumes are a daily occurrence for millions of commuters. According to an earlier research study in Bombay for the improvement of living and working conditions, it was found that 71 percent workers lived within 10 km. of their work place. About 22 percent traveled ten to 25 kms, seven percent had to travel more than 25 kms. Some 75 percent workers took less than half an hour to get to work and 20 per cent over an hour. In present day Bombay, because of the influx of migrant labor and a big increase in population, at least 30% of the workers have to waste two hours each way traveling by train and bus to reach their working place.

Commuters at the end of the day complain of a far higher incidence of tiredness, irritability, lack of concentration, sleeplessness, headaches, digestive disorders, backaches, motion sickness and general discomfort. A man weighing 70 kg. uses more than 25 kg. of air while breathing. He requires one kg. of food and 1.5 kg. of water. Air pollution is silent killer. Mr. S. Hanumamtha Rao, Chairman of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, estimated that it reduces one’s life span by at least 20 years.

Prof. J.M. Dave, Dean of the School of Environmental Science, Jawaharlal Nehru University admitted that cities like Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi and Ahmedabad showed respectively 350,560 300 and 250 milligrams of particles per meter cube in the air. This was caused by vehicles, smoke and coal consuming industries. Big towns breed tension in their environment. If you breath in heavily polluted air in a big and crowded township you will feel tensed up.

If the pace of life is fast, and if we are running faster, tension will also go on mounting faster. Tension keeps on filling the body. Some day it may get filled to the brim. Due to anxiety, our mind may work overtime in a state of violent tenseness and then it will target to stop thinking. We go to bed, we feel tired, we feel drowsy but the mind goes on ticking. We are not able to sleep. We get up in the morning still tired, the mind does not seem to work properly. This in turn builds up more tension. The body is tense, muscles becomes tense. Neck muscles, shoulder muscles and the upper back get all tensed up. If we put fingers on these muscles and try to probe them by pushing harder, we can feel that they are tense and tender. This in turn shrinks the muscles. Less blood flows through them. Less blood reaches the neck and brain. Thinking power begins to dwindle, we feel heavy in the head, we feel tired after working for a little while, we feel miserable. Our heart is filled up with grief. There is no inclination to smile even if we try hard.

Then other problems crop up as the effect of tension spreads to several parts of the body. Digestion suffers, the secretion of gastric juices appears to increase and the stomach may pain. The heart seems to be jumping a lot, the pulse rate goes high, we become irritable. There is loss of interest in the surroundings and there is loss of libido. We must learn to relax in order to be able to reverse this negative process in the body. We must try to tension and relax the muscles.

Dr. Steven J.Schleiter of Mount Sinai School of Medicine U.S.A. says that the loss of the life partner is linked with increased illness and death, notably among the widowers. His team of researchers found that there was a significant decline in the activity of the white blood cells which are responsible for the defense of the body in diseases. Weakened resistance was aggravated by hormonal changes in the blood chemistry due to depression and anxiety which were common emotions among widowers.

Dr. Robert Ader, a British immunologist, showed through an experiment a clear and direct link between brain and the immune system. He established that hypnosis can suppress allergic reactions. These findings should alter a physician’s approach to disease and also his attitude towards the patients. If the physician talks to the patient trying to understand his problem, giving him a constructive suggestion, this may work far better than prescribing a tranquillizer.

A split second prescription adversely affects doctor-patient interaction and hinder "meaningful" communication between the patient and his physician according to some experimenters. The patient seems to be most satisfied when the physician gives detailed information about the disease affecting him, rather than the one who got a mere prescription from his physician.

Leisure is Pleasure
Leisure is not for all, it is meant for those who are busy mentally or physically. Take a holiday at least once a year. If there is no money, never mind, borrow, enjoy the holiday and pay later. This is most prevalent in the west among the affluent or economically independent. They do not have to collect huge sums for their house, marriage of their daughters and old age. Children leave their homes early in life as they grow up. They can buy a house or a car immediately as soon as they get a job and pay for it by installments.

Our tradition of leisure is much older than that of the west, our religious and social set up is such that we are geared to taking several holidays. Poets have written abundantly about pleasure to be derived from leisure. They have written about the changing life during the 12 months of the year and have studied deeply the changes taking place in the nature during all the seasons. Singers have developed ragas which are sung in different seasons. They have also evolved ragas which are sung at different hours of the day. Indian princes and noblemen have spent hours in the garden of their palaces watching dances and listening to music. They woke up to the grandeur of the music of sahnai in the morning. The kirtan and ajan of the mulla in sonorous Arabic words was meant to renew the body-soul. Village folks walked around the well every morning singing while collecting the water. Mothers have been singing to their babies throughout the ages putting them to sleep. Women folk sings while walking, to the river to take their bath.

Rock-a-Bye baby tapes that soothe restless infants and induce sleep may soon offer new hope to drug addicts. There tapes combine the relaxing music of Bach and Laurie Anderson with nature’s own special sounds, the sort herd by unborn babies in the womb. This music is being developed for restless babies by a research organization. It has been noticed that adults also become much more calm and relaxed when the baby tapes are played. The field of therapeutic sound is immense and offers exciting possibilities. "So we decided to develop tapes for adults," said psychologist Clifford Olds. Mr. Olds of Runwell Hospital, Wickford, Essex, says that sound we hear in our sub-conscious has potentially a huge therapeutic effect. Hear some soothing music for half an hour before you go to bed, you will sleep better.

Go back to nature see how much it can make you feel relaxed. Listen to your body when you are tensed up from long months of a routine existence. When the body seems not to be obeying the mind, you feel tired and irritable. This is the time for a holiday. Come out of the rut of the daily routine. Force yourself out of a dull environment. When you come back from a week’s holiday you will be rejuvenated. The body mind will be more alert. The spirit will be more alive and the speed of work much enhanced. The ethos of the life philosophy, since ages, had been that our existence is not been given to us merely to earn money, to survive, on a physical plane. Life is to live and to search for happiness for body and soul.

Walking Pleasure
When I am tensed, I go for a long morning walk. It is good to walk and walk till the body aches. The mind gets busy with the aching muscles and it forgets its many worries. Many people say that the benefit that they get after exercising is their improved psychological status. They report less anxiety and depression. There is more self confidence and ability to cope with at-home and job related stress. It has been explained on a biological level during exercise there is a decrease in circulating catecholamines and increase in beta endorphins that occur during and following an exercise. Even if we do not consider the change in blood chemistry it would be a good idea getting sedentary people up and away from chronic distress producing environment and help them to do their choicest exercise.

Buddha, Christ and Gandhi wandered the year round, because nirvana can be achieved by keeping oneself agile by constant exercise of body and mind. The garland of religious festivals which India wears, will always invite large masses in the organic culture. The pilgrimage to the mutts of Badrinath and Kedarnath in the Himalayas, Puri on the eastern sea, Dwarka in Gujarat, Rameshwaram by Kanya Kumari, Kumbh melas at the Sangam union of three rivers Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati has allured millions to walk in their vanapratha (after the age of 50). The young also go on these pilgrimages.

Amarnath in Kashmir was opened by Lalitditya in the 5th Century AD Guru Nakano found solace and peace in his walk to mount Kailash. Emperor Akbar walked to the tomb of Saint Muin-ud-din in Ajmer. His son Jehangir journeyed every summer to Chasma Shahi. The third Mughal preferred to visit Shalimar garden in Kashmir every year. Recently even our well-known Sunil Dutt walked a thousand kilometers and more from Bombay to Delhi to Punjab hoping to spread peace and goodwill along the route. He was joined by hundreds of his admirers in this marathon.

Sikh Gurudwaras are spread all over India. The Sikhs have prescribed pilgrimages to these religious temples. The Jain often get away from their sedentary static posture in the bania shop to visit Gomateswara on Sravanbelagola hills and Girnar and Ranakhpur temples in Mount Abu.

Release Your Emotions
Do not allow your emotions to get built up. Do not hold grudges. Accuse, abuse or fight if need be. This is an outlet for your stored emotions. Many a time, it is not possible to shout or abuse or raise our voice as we supposedly live in a cultured society. For your own sake, solve your problem one way or another, do not keep it lingering on. Not long ago a patient came to me filled with mental distress. He had not been able to sleep well for years. He was irritable, had a bad tummy upset, and an irritation of the throat and chest. After going through his long history of illness and examining him, I concluded that his brothers, though he himself was quite well to do. The law suits were being fought in courts of law and there was no end in sight. With cordiality gone and hatred mounting, the effect of all this started descending from a mental to physical level. I advised him to go home, withdraw or lose but end all the pending court matters and then come back to me. To my surprise he did as advised. In a few weeks he bouncing with joy both physically and mentally. He had become a new man. He had zest for life.

The ability to let off steam or relieve tension now and again seems to help. We can express our feelings and unwind ourselves in many different ways, share our feelings and with those whom we know and trust. Having the capacity to laugh at ourselves now and then allows us to relax. Screaming and yelling will also help though it may not be socially acceptable.

The fear of a nuclear holocaust has been keeping Americans and Europeans tense. The collection of a nuclear arsenal enough to finish the world a hundred times is adding to people’s anxiety and their tension. A nuclear war in Europe, it is estimated will wipe out instantly some 150 million people. Half the survivors would have permanent injuries. A nuclear physicist, Mr. Joseph Hotblat, told a conference of world doctors and medical scientists from 30 countries, in Cambridge, that a nuclear holocaust will so contaminate the atmosphere that it will be totally dark even during the day. Survivors would die of starvation as farming would prove impossible. Some time ago the news of a wayward satellite which had left the moon orbit and was entering the earth atmosphere created panic. Scientists did not know where it would fell. For several days the world was tensed up. Mercifully, the wayward missile fell into the sea, a few miles away from the coast of Australia. Newspapers which daily carry their fare of news of murders, communal riots, suicides, terrorism, rape, bride burning make the readers tense. A psychologist suggested not to read newspapers or hear the radio or TV news if such news made you tense.

Love and compassion of your wife, your children, your relatives, your friends are important in that they can fill you up and relieve you from tension. In a study it was found that women who shared an intimate relationship with lover or husband were 90 percent less likely to become depressed than women who had no such relationship to turn to. Workers eased out of their jobs are less likely to become depressed or ill if they had supportive marital relationship. A proper relationship based on love and friendship can be a great outlet for easing pent-up feelings.

Children who are fed on mother’s milk grow in much more psychologically stable environment than children fed on bottle milk, several studies have emphasized. Most likely, this is due to the fact that apart from good quality milk, the love that a mother imparts to her child by holding him close to her breasts in an affectionate hug is something that makes all the difference. The special position that the child’s spine takes when held in the mother’s lap helps it to grow in a normal way.

Auto-suggestion can help relieve tension. A strong suggestion, or faith, or belief, in oneself can help you out of tension. If you can strongly suggest to a person and build his confidence it will help him to come out of his problem. I remember a person telling me that if he suggests strongly to a person that he will probably fall sick, his body temperature will rise and may even be bed ridden. If in the same way it can be suggested that a person will come out of his misfortune it has to and does work. Another person claimed that he had powers to make a person known to him to make him get up from deep sleep, come to the window, look out, and go back to bed, all from a distance. A strong mind can overpower a weak mind and help him to relax and give constructive help. Psychotherapy and hypnotism are based on this principle. Tabeej provided by faqirs, black threads offered by sadhus, metallic rings from tantrics and astrologers, are supposed to give help. Through suggestion the wearer feels secure and more confident that he can override misfortunes.

Once a person asked Gandhiji how to get rid tension. Gandhiji suggested to him to recite Ram nam (God’s name). Faith in God can help people to come out their misery. If you can recite God’s name with faith and confidence it will help you. If you strongly feel that he will protect you, you will feel his hand of protection. Faith plays a major role. We work for a reward. We help others with a hope to get help in our own needs. When it is not coming we get frustrated. The Bhagvad Gita has a lot of matter which is of therapeutic value in the Indian context, and can provide a book approach to positive mental health, according to a research study on this holy book.

The message of the Gita will greatly help people plunged in meaningless competition and frustration. The therapeutic package for problems and anxiety is based on the principle of "Nishkam-karma" (work without expecting rewards). This has helped people to function effectively in an achievement oriented world where reward might not always be certain.

There is also the other concept of immortality of the soul which is especially soothing for some one grieving for the loss and come over emotional disturbances of old age. The Buddhists believe in rebirth. Recently a lama was believed to have been reincarnated in Osel, meaning clear in light. He was born to a Spanish couple, Maria and Paco, near Grenada in Southern Spain, on February 25, 1985, a little less than a year after the death of Yeshe, a lama of Kopam monastery in Nepal. Budhist emissaries traveled far and wide to find the boy in Spain. From Delhi young Osel was taken to Nepal. According to Maria and Paco, found by lama Tubtan Zopan the great disciple of Lama Yeshe. It was only after a series of tests that it was discovered to be the true reincarnation of his mentor.

Concentration helps
Many persons feel relaxed after a visit to the racecourse, or after a long session of bridge, of course, with stakes or after a session of chanting and kirtan. Why is it so? When gambling, you put all of your mind to work on the game. You have thus diverted your mind from your day-to-day worries. A good session of kirtan will make you feel the same. If you participate in a kirtan with a rhythmic, melodious voice and with faith, you will feel relaxed. You will feel as if your mind and body are sinking in Bhakti Rasa (nectar of devotion) and you will come out of it rejuvenated. You will be invigorated and the mind will be cool calm and tranquil.

The system of concentration and meditation practiced by the yogis of India may well be the answer to complaints that the medical science has not been able to help. A sensitive machine called biofeedback has been invented not long back to help people to learn relaxation. It interprets and translates into a screen the state of relaxation of the body. As we relax the sound waves becomes milder indicating that we are heading in the right direction. This helps us to become acquainted with the ways of relaxation. Later when we have mastered the technique, we can discard the machine and carry on with the relaxation exercise.

There was a time when. British doctors in colonial India sent reports around that yoga masters would perform amazing feats like stopping heart beats, and walking on burning embers with no apparent injury. The reason was that the yogis had obtained extraordinary control over their bodies especially the autonomic nervous system which operates without conscious control. All the involuntary movement like that of the heart and the peristaltic movement of intestine are controlled by it.

My hands are warm
In 1910, the German hypnotist Johann Schultz found that when he taught patients self-hypnosis by talking themselves into a relaxed state, he had surprising results. For instance, when they repeated the phrase "my hands are warm," their hands did in fact grow warmer.

In 1964 American doctors also confirmed Schultz’s experiment wiring up volunteer housewives to an instrument which monitored skin temperature. The wives were then asked to relax and feel that their hands were getting warmer. The instrument registered increased heat in their hands.

A doctor recently has been experimenting on this same principle and helping patients of tension headaches and peptic ulcers by asking them to concentrate on their hands and feel them getting warmer. This technique takes time to be learnt. When it is mastered at the time of tension headaches or pain in the abdomen the patient can concentrate on the palms, and get relief in their headache or abdomen pain. This occurs as the blood rushes to the palm, and as a result the head or the abdomen get rid of the excessive blood.

An experiment was conducted with asthmatics. They are generally sensitive to such irritants as dust pollens and fumes, but a lot of their trouble stems from nervous tension. An asthmatic patient is treated in a soundproof room and wired to Biofeedback machine. If he is relaxed, he only hears a slow clicking. He is then told to visualize dust, flowers or whatever possibly causes asthmatic attacks. Usually he grows tense at the very thought of these items. The machine clicks faster. The patient is aware that he is on the verge of a full scale attack. All caused by tension. When he learn that tension is his enemy he can learn to control it by listening to the clicks and trying to slow them down. Biofeedback helps to master the technique of self-relaxation. Later the patient can dispense with the machine altogether. By then he would have learnt to relax and by his own efforts be able to lead a fuller and happier life.

Relaxed with Sex
Many men and women claim that they are relaxed after sex, physically and mentally. They sleep better after the sex act. Women who work and live together with men folk get their menstrual cycle synchronized.

The male scent plays a role in maintaining the health of women, particularly the female reproductive system. There is definitely a link between regular sex and the well being of women’s reproductive system. This has been revealed in a series of studies. The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine has found that women who have sex with men at least once a week are likely to have normal menstrual cycles and milder menopause than celibate women or women who have sex rarely or sporadically.

In two studies, researchers collected underarm secretions from seven men and women to test the effect of sexual aromas known as pheromones. A "soup" of aromatic essences was taken from underarm pads worn by volunteers for 18 to 27 hours a week over three months period. The male’s essence mixed with alcohol was applied to the upper lips of six women with abnormal menstrual cycles and no current sexual relationship. The cycle of three women speeded up or slowed down to an average towards 29.5 days. The irregular cycle of six women in the control group, dabbed with only pure alcohol remained same. In a second group, ten women who received male essence showed a significant trend towards synchronized menstrual period after only a few cycles. A control group showed no such change.

But there was a definite awareness that men and women in each other’s company seemed to feel more relaxed and their intimate relationship kept them healthier. An architect friend stresses the fact that design and even the color of the home have an effect on the mind. Houses can be designed in a way that the resident feels mentally peaceful. There is also a theory that haunted houses are nothing but badly designed houses which have a horrible, ghastly effect on the mind.

According to study, Children growing up in flats in skyscrapers have more mental problems. Playing and running on the ground soil, living nearer to the earth as it were, has a beneficial psychological effect. Live in a bungalow if you can afford it, but a hut will be equally relaxing. Let your children be in constant contact with mother earth.

People living in a combined family seem to be emotionally more stable. Children growing in their grandparents laps get mutual affection and time. Thus the individuals get more support in moment of an emotional crisis.
Because of the last war, the British have suffered a lot in terms of parental love and a family life. According to the findings of a nationwide opinion poll commissioned by the "Sunday Express" to determine the style most favored by Britons in 1986, today they crave for traditional family life with parental supervision and family get together.

The result of this poll came as a massive backlash to the type of permissive society seemed to have evolved with marriage considered outdated. Free love and taking drugs were fashionable. The Wheel has now turned. The Britons today are against a world of permissiveness, or single parent families and quick divorces. The traditional family has won a massive vote of confidence with special emphasis on the need for children to be brought up by both parents. This poll was conducted among 1500 adults aged 15 plus.

In India, we are better off. The combined Family is still a tradition with us and permissiveness a few steps away. How long we will be safe is yet to be ascertained as foreign habits, ways, customs and style of living are flowing faster this side of the world.

Meditation
Meditation techniques vary but essentially they are all the same because their final objective it to helps to develop and exploit inner awareness. In a way, through meditation, you begin becoming more aware of your body and the outside world. Concentration increases. You are able to think better in whatever type of work you do. You become more efficient, your body healthier. Many experiments on transcendental meditation have been done which have been described "the science of creative intelligence".

Meditation should be done in a calm, comfortable environment Focus your mind on mantras or breath. Transcendental meditation is helped by a mantra, a word or sound or command from your instructor. The technique is simple, faster to learn and gives coolness to mind and gets you into a state of deep relaxation. Vippassana meditation does not take help of any mantra. It takes the help of breath. This is supposed to be oldest form and was used by Lord Buddha to attain Nirvana. It is more valuable in curing diseases, apart from giving physical and mental relaxation. It cleanses the body like fasting or dieting.

Meditation has been highly recommended by the famous heart surgeon, Christian Barnard who did perform the world’s first ever heart transplant in 1967 at the University of Capetown, South Africa. In his book "Your Healthy Heart" he recommends meditation to heart patients. He furthers says that, during meditation, the cardiac output decreases by 25 percent as in sleep. The heart slows down. The heart beat lessens by an estimated 5 beats per minute. Evidence has also been gathered that the blood pressure can be controlled by meditation.

Though less clear-cut, it has a beneficial, direct physiological effect on the heart. Meditation is most beneficial for those who are prone to coronary ailments. We can learn the technique to relax the mind and the body whenever we desire. At the moments of stress, we should lock ourselves in a quiet room for about half an hour, allow the mind and body to take control of the proceedings. You come out of it quite relaxed. Meditation is an effective weapon in our artillery. We should use it whenever we are under high stress.
Meditation can help in many ways, even to lessen the incidence of crime. It was experimented in a crime-ridden village of Bhusandpur in Puri district, Orissa. To verify this claim made by Mr. Prasanna Patsani, MLA, a group of newsmen from Bhubaneshwar descended to this Orissa’s biggest village which is surrounded by undulating hills, overlooking the Chilka lake. Patsani, a bearded, saffron robed Naxal turned Congress (I) leader, took the press party to the two acre walled compound of the village temple where classes were being held.

On the dhurries spread over the compound lawns were 600 young and old men and women taking their instructions over a public address system. They were asked to do asanas followed by pranayama and dhyana (meditation) to the accompaniment of vedichymns taped in a cassette. What is the secret behind the villager’s enthusiasm in gathering in this secluded spot? What motivates them? Mr. Patsani admits they are paid Rs. 50 each per month as compensation for their lost working hours since 90 percent of the villagers live by fishing on the Chilka. But that is not the only reason why they are enthusiastic. They have found out the physical and mental benefits of the exercise in the open.

Savasana (the corpse pose) is a powerful asana for relaxation which was extensively advocated by the late cardiologist Dr. K.K. Datey. He firmly believed that relaxation played an important role in helping the cure of heart diseases and lowering the high blood pressure.

First Method (Corpse Pose)

  1. Think about your feet, move your toes, flex your ankle and slowly let it go, let go all the tension and let your feet feel relaxed and heavy.

The simplest thing to do is to select a quiet place with clean air, free from insects and unpleasant smell. Spread a blanket or sheet on the ground or a wooden plank. Remove the hoes, loosen the belt, remove glasses or have only light clothing. Lie on your back. When you lie on a hard surface, without a pillow, your spine is straight almost touching the floor all through. This is the most relaxed position for the body. If you feel your spine is not touching the floor, bend both knees, see that it touches the floor, stretch your legs ajar. Stretch out both your arms, resting them by your side, forming an angle of 15-20 degrees at the arm pit, feet slightly apart and let them fall outwards evenly, eyes gently closed.

Think to yourself that you are going to relax completely and will wake up completely relaxed.

  1. Think of your leg, calf muscles, knee, thigh and ankle, tighten it and let it go completely relaxed. Feel the weight increasing and feel the muscles sinking on the floor heavy, and feel relaxed.
  1. Think of your hands, wiggle your fingers, flex your wrist and let it go, feel it dropping heavily on the floor and get relaxed.
  1. Think of your fore arm, elbow, upper arm and shoulders. Feel them getting, limp and becoming heavy and relaxed.
  1. Think of your abdomen, draw it in and think of your waist, tighten your hips and them let them go, watch it mentally relaxing inch by inch. Let your breath flow smoothly and deeply.
  1. Think of your chest, take few deep breaths, think of your shoulders, your neck. Feel the tension flowing out and you are relaxing more and more.
  1. Think of your neck, head and face, relax your taut neck muscles, relax the face muscles. Drop the jaw parting your lips and teeth.
  1. Concentrate now over all your body, feel all parts relaxed, to it, to see their tension ebbs out, you feel relaxed.

When the whole body is relaxed, you feel it all gone, heavy and sinking to the floor. You feel as if you are partially paralyzed and even if you try, you will not be able to lift your leg or arms. Stay in this bodily state as long as you can. Pay much attention to your breath, let it flow smoothly and deeply. Remain in this position for 10-15 minutes. You can picture some pleasant thoughts or you may make your mind feel vacant or empty, enjoy the state of light sleep. It is a state of deep rest and peace which brings us perfect health.

When you are ready to get up say to yourself that you are completely relaxed. You are there ready to wake up. Feel the body gradually gaining back its strength, your feet your hands, feel you have regained full control of your body. Bend your right knee and then the felt knee, bend your right arm and them the left arm. Open up your body, as it were, stretch the arms above head, stretch the legs and all of your body. Sit down for a few moments and you are ready to start your nest routine.

Second Method (Lateral Swing)
If you have difficulty in getting sleep try the following method:

Step I - Stand with feet apart by 1 1\2 feet.

Step II- Loosen your arms. Do not keep them straight. Keep them hanging loosely.

Step III-Swing from one side to another by twisting the waist and carry your arm along with the upper part of the body. When you twist to right keep your left leg straight and bend your right knee and slightly shift the direction of your feet to right. Do the opposite movement when you twist to the left. Keep blinking for 10 minutes. You may feel giddy in the beginning. You will feel drowsy after this period. Wash your face and feet with cold water and go to bed.

In three days this exercise will definitely help you to get better sleep. Loss of sleep is caused by the fact that you are not able to relax, you are not able to keep away your mind from thinking.

Third Method (Relax Anywhere)
Relaxation is to make use of your mind to calm the body. But, it is more important, that in the first place your mind is calm. You can relax anywhere even in your office, the aircraft, in the bus or train. Make yourself comfortable whether sitting of reclining. Close your eyes. Raise your chin and then let it fall. Take a few deep breaths, see that your mind is calm and tranquil. Imagine that you are sitting on a rock or on a sea beach or even in a garden with a lot of flowers, try to picture any place or situation you have enjoyed the most. See in your mind’s eye the different colors of the flowers, watch their freshness, smell the soft smell flowing from them, feel the cool breeze flowing over your body. Imagine a place you have visited in the past and which represent, to you an ideal spot for physical and mental relaxation.

Children can also be tense and it affects their health. Many children therefore suffer from peptic ulcers and heart diseases. A report from Tokyo prints out that pressures to do well in school have led to a rapid rise in stomach ulcers among the elementary and middle school children. Remember, the seeds of future heart attacks are laid in childhood.

Fourth Method (Relax Your Child)
If you find that your child is not relaxed, if he is not able to sleep well due to tension, you may recommend to him a very simple exercise for relaxation. For instance let him lie down comfortably in bed. Switch the light off, close the door to cut down the noise, if necessary.

Ask him to imagine that he has got holes in the soles of his feet. Let him imagine breathing in and out through these holes. Let him imagine that fresh cool air is entering from his sole and passing through his feet, thighs waist and reaching the chest. In the same way while breathing out let him imagine that the air is passing down his waist, his thighs, feet and through the imaginary holes in his feet. Let him do this exercise for 5-10 minutes. He will feel thoroughly relaxed with exercise and sleep much better.

Relaxation can be achieved through a steam bath, sauna bath warm bath and the various cold water applications, which we have already mentioned in detail in the chapter on water treatment. Massage can also be very relaxing. Any treatment which relaxes the muscles and the body physically will relax the mind also.
If we relax our muscles this cycle of mind tension tensing our muscles can be broken. When our muscles are relaxed our mind is also relaxed. That massaging, when done with strong hands and with strong pressure will be more beneficial is not true. For relaxation, the massage should be done with soft hands and it should be soothing and pleasant. If the massage causes pain it will not relax. It can be done with your hands if help is not available, it can be done by your life partner, a friend or a relation.

It is not the pressure but the awareness of your body which helps you to relax deeper. It should be done systematically from the toes to head. It should be done with a certain rhythm and always from the periphery towards the heart. There is short verse from Granth Sahib written by Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion:

  • As a lotus in the water remains dry
  • As also a water fowl in the stream
  • So on meditating on the world
  • Shall thou be unaffected by the world 201

MESSAGES FROM THE HOLLOW EARTH

Hollow Earth. Aha! We have heard of it from so many people now. New Age writers. Proponents of Tibetan and ancient lore. Explorers. Seers. Seekers. Hollow Earth. But what difference does it make to our lives? What if our Earth is not solid but hollow inside. What if it's not dark inside, but lighted "oh-so-bright" for there's a small sun at the centre of Earth. And what if the inside of Earth is not so barren, but full of lush green forests, sparkling rivers, pristine mountains and calm, blue oceans. though all so inaccessible. It still probably would not make a difference in our lives, unless we are not told that the "inside" is populated too...Ahoy there! Populated? By whom? By a highly evolved human race. Oh really?!!!

Why the surprise? Because that does make a difference. The eternal question of 'Are we alone?' has intrigued human generations for centuries. For eons we have remained cut off from our brethren, our cosmic brothers and sisters. so long that we even forgot where we came from. But our subconscious mind was always looking for our roots. 'Are we alone in this vast, wild cosmic expanse.?'

Our centuries of hardships have borne fruit. Slowly, but steadily, we are beginning to awaken, with the silent, patient and loving help from our spiritual guides in higher dimensions. and from the ones beneath us - inside the Hollow Earth. And now is the time to know - YES - WE ARE NOT ALONE !

The Hollow interior of our Earth is inhabited by a highly intelligent and evolved human race, prospering there for millions of years. Not very long ago there was a time when we were all one. But through our own follies we cut ourselves off from the eternal source - from the oneness of humanity inside our Earth. And ever since they have patiently waited for the day of our unification. wishing only good for us and sending their purest love energy our way. Today, when our mass consciousness is just beginning to realize who we really are, they are once again extending their hand of friendship and help.

Some of the inner civilizations are telepathically communicating with Dianne Robbins, Eric Karagounis, or with anyone who'll open their heart. For, interestingly, we are all descendents of people who came from other star systems to our Earth very long, long ago.

Mikos further tells us that all the planets in our solar system and elsewhere in our galaxy are inhabited on the inside. No kidding here - planets are meant to support life only - that's what they are made for! Hey, that would mean there are lots 'n' lots of people out there. Of course there are! And they are all waiting for us to join them. All they want from us is to be peace-loving - give up wars, intend peace and love for all, and to open our hearts to receive God's purest love energy permeating through the universe - that's it! People in the Hollow Earth are in constant touch with people on other planets and star systems - physically, technologically and telepathically. There are huge spaceports inside the Hollow Earth teeming with starships, going in and out of the inside through the polar openings. These are what we commonly refer to as UFOs.

Mikos says they live inside the heart of the Earth in perfect harmony with nature, using the natural resources without depleting them and without polluting the environment. Their technologies are "one" with nature, such as crystal lighting, and anti-gravity based transportation, and their nature-based technologies fulfill all their energy needs. They don't use any fossil fuels. This harmony and oneness with the divine makes them immortal too! There are no diseases aging or death.

There's a lot more to it - lots more to learn and lots more to remember. Only it's not like some boring classroom lecture, but like a fantastic fantasy story, one that's true as well.

Come. lets extend "our" hand of friendship too. Lets shed our inhibitions, our taboos, our fears, and embrace the loving intent of the One Creator. Lets break the barrier of this self-imposed quarantine, and be one with the people living inside our Earth. Lets make our Mother Earth proud of its children by being united again, and making our journey together through the photon belt to the stars. This is our destiny. The Hollow Earth beckons us in.

Monthly Energy Exercise

The Mudra of Five

It is very important to practice on a daily basis, the moving of universal subtle energies through your body. To assist you in doing this, each month we will offer a different exercise to practice. You are encouraged to create your own exercises. There is no limit to what you might do. These are just some energy exercises to get you started.

This month it is time to do some work with hand mudras.  For a brief lesson on mudras see the article called a "Study Of Postures (mudra Vgyan)" by Dr. Aniruddha Malpani.  This article is in our May 2003 Newsletter Miscellany page.   

Briefly, hand mudras are a tool to assist you in shifting the energy flow patterns of your body by redirecting the flow of energy that moves throughout your body.  There are a very large number of mudras to move energies in different ways through the body. The mudra that is given below was recently discovered by myself.  I found it to be very energizing.  The key is to feel the energies that move through your body as you are practicing the posture. Minor alterations of the finger positions may yield dramatic energy shifts in the energy flow.  Make sure to note the exact position of your fingers and hands.  If a posture does not feel right to you you may want to avoid that mudra.  As always use discernment. 

Rather than explain the hand position I am including four camera shots of the hand mudra.  I would like to add that you should position the arms so as to form a pentagon shape using the upper and lower arms to form four sides of the pentagon, with the chest forming the fifth side.   

I recommend you try this mudra with your arms out in front of you and parallel with the ground.  As a second position, try sitting in a cross legged position and rest your arms on your legs. In both cases you want to focus on your breathing and simply allow yourself to feel the energy that flows through and around your body as you relax.  You may practice this mudra for about ten minutes once or twice a day for about one week.  Pay particular attention to any shifts that are not easily identifiable.  From this point on you can practice developing your own hand mudras.

Other Lives, Other Times

You know, as metaphysicians, that your Physical Plane is an illusion. You know as astute, intelligent people -- whether you're metaphysical or not -- that reality is an illusion. Your scientists have demonstrated this so conclusively, so repetitively, so rigidly, that the only way you can pretend otherwise is to deny the truth.

The metaphysicians and the scientists, who are usually at odds with one another, agree totally on this issue: Your reality is a product of thought. Your reality is a product of consciousness. Your reality is an illusion of light. Your reality is an illusion.

Metaphysicians from the beginning of time have said: Time is an illusion. Einstein demonstrated that time is an illusion. Subsequent quantum physicists have more than demonstrated and proved that time is an illusion, that it is a convenience you have created for yourself. All things are simultaneous. Every lifetime you have is occurring now. Every lifetime you have is occurring now.

Now, you have those lifetimes, and you put them on a continuum. You call the left end of this continuum the past, and you call the right end of it the future. All that really means is that you are putting the whole array of lifetimes that are randomly scattered or placed out there -- the entire smorgasbord of lifetimes -- in order. You are putting them in sequence.

Following the analogy of a smorgasbord, when you go to a cafeteria, do you ever notice that while standing at the beginning of the line all the food is there? Even though you can't get to it all at once -- even though you put it on your plate in sequence -it is still all there. And you go down the line, don't you? And of course, what do they put first? The desserts! ... {laughter} ... They put the desserts first. Then they put the salads, boring salads. White lettuce. It's an amazing thing, white lettuce. ... {laughter} ... Then they put all the steamed main courses. Then they put the bread and butter and drinks and things like this. And you go down the line, and you gather a plateful of food. Do you eat the dessert first? Maybe some of you ... {laughter} ... You tend to do it like you're supposed to. You start with the salad. Then you eat the main course. Then you eat your dessert. But it's all there on your tray, and it's all there on the smorgasbord or in the cafeteria line. Whether you are at the beginning, middle, or the end of the line, it's all there at once.

Well, your lifetimes are like that, too, all laid out. They're all there. You choose. "I'm going to do this one, and then I'm going to follow it with this one, and then I'm going to follow it with that one." You give yourself time. Sometimes your next lifetime might be in Atlantis, or it might be in the Middle Ages, or it might be in the 1800s. They're all there. They're all there, and you pick and choose which ones you want to experience when you want to experience them.

The other analogy we use is a movie theater. Particularly your multiple cinemas are conducive to this. When you go to a multiple cinema, sometimes all the movies are playing at the same time. You can go to this one and that one and this one and that one -- any order you want. They're all playing.

So lifetimes are that way. You have those that are called past and present and future lifetimes that are those which are in the same space as you, but in different times, and that's your illusion. You also have those lifetimes that are called parallel lifetimes, which are in the same time, but in a different space. There's a "you" that's alive now that isn't this you, but is a parallel to you. It's not literally a geometric parallel, but it's a "parallel" to you in time, not space. Some of you have two or three parallel lifetimes. A "you" might be living in New York City right now, a best-selling author living on Fifth Avenue with a view of the park or whatever. A parallel life is a split-off of you.

Often split-offs occur in your adolescence because those are the times that you are highly filled with fantasy. Some of you, when you were 13, could have "died" to be a doctor, right? You watched every doctor show. You read every doctor book. A doctor -- that's what you were going to be -- a doctor, a doctor, a doctor, a doctor, a doctor! Then one day something happened, and ... "Doctor? I don't want to be a doctor!" It's as though it disappeared.

Often what has happened is you've split off, and that part of you, who has the same parents and the same upbringing, splits off and lives a totally different life, let's say as a doctor at Columbia University in New York City, or wherever. But if you went to New York, if you looked them up in the roster, you'd never find them, because although they're in the same time, they're in a different space. Those are parallel lifetimes.

Assume that you have a past lifetime where you live and die as a corner grocer in Chicago, 1880 - 1960. You have your current lifetime doing whatever you do, and you were born in Pittsburgh in 1940. For those 20 years, -- from 1940 to 1960 -- the two lifetimes overlap. There are overlapping lifetimes that you have because all the lifetimes are happening at once. Time is an illusion. All lifetimes are simultaneous -- past, present, future, parallel, overlapping. All of them are happening at once.

The most correct way would be to refer to all lifetimes as concurrent lives experienced in varying time/space continua. That is rather bulky, so you call them past, present, future, parallel, or overlapping. This is technically incorrect, but it is efficient and effective. Like time itself, it is an illusion that is technically incorrect, but both efficient and effective.

"Well, why bother about past lifetimes?" Exactly. Why bother? ... {laughter} ... Some of you have no interest in them. Fine, don't bother! The Channel (Jach Pursel) has no particular interest in his past lifetimes. We did a life reading for him one time. We made a cassette tape for him at Peny's request. He listened to it once and said, "Hmmmmm." And that was it. ... {laughter} ...

What about those of you who have had life readings? Should you not have done so? No. If you're interested in lives, then learn about them. What we suggest, and we make this very clear whenever we talk of past lives, is that lifetimes do not cause. They do not cause your current life. They influence. They influence.

We've used the analogy of a sunburn, where if you're sunburned and someone slaps you sharply on the back ... "Oh!" It's going to sting. It's going to make you cry. It's going to make you hate for a moment or two until you can control yourself ... {laughter} ...

If you have no sunburn on the back and someone slaps you sharply, it's going to sting, but not as much. It may annoy you. "Why do they have to be like that!" It may cause some irritation, but not hate.

What caused the pain? Sunburn? No. No. The sunburn did not cause the pain. The slap on the back caused the pain. The sunburn influenced the intensity.

Lifetimes are like sunburn. They can influence each other, but they do not control. They do not cause. Therefore, if you failed in a past lifetime, it does not mean you will fail now. But if you do fail now, if you do create failure now ("now" is the only place you can create anything anyway), the fact that you failed previously may influence what you do -- how you handle it now. For some of you it may influence in such a way that you can handle the failure more smoothly. "No problem. I don't know why, but I know exactly what to do about it." Because of the influence of the past, you are prepared to handle this one easily. Others may feel totally devastated because the previous failure produces an influence of feeling more fearful.

Lifetimes can influence, just as you and a friend can influence each other. But you cannot honestly control each other. What you do does not make them do anything; it does not control them. It can influence them. Lifetimes are like friends.

Do you and your probable selves actualize the same events?

You do not ever meet a parallel lifetime, and you tend not to run into your overlapping lifetimes, because the trauma would be just too disconcerting. No, you don't run into them, and they don't have the same events.

Overlapping lifetimes are lifetimes where the previous one has not quite ended when the next one begins. The end of one overlaps the beginning of another. Sometimes your favorite television shows overlap, or two movies that you want to see on the same night overlap. It is disconcerting, isn't it?

Well, you do sometimes experience the same phenomenon in lifetimes since they are all simultaneous. One begins before the other ends, except with lifetimes you generally aren't aware of the overlap because it would be too confusing. It would be too confusing for a 5-year-old child to encounter or confront the 80-year-old man they are/were/are in a previous lifetime. It would be really disconcerting. They'd lock you up -- either as the old man realizing "I'm a 5-year-old child," or as a 5-year-old child realizing, "I'm an old man!" Either way, you're in trouble!

So therefore, you bury even the intuition or remembrance of such things. Shhhh! Don't even talk about that stuff, you know? Anyway, even if you did have an intuitive "hit," by the time you're six or seven you forget about it anyway, so we would suggest you aren't aware of probable selves like that. No, you don't run into them, and they don't have the same events.

For Sale By Owner: Are You Getting What You Want Out of Life?

I realize that’s a screwy-sounding title. Let me explain.

The other day I was out walking home from jogging in my semi-rural neighborhood. I passed a house with a "For Sale By Owner" sign planted in the front yard next to the road. The only problem was the owners had parked their truck directly in front of the sign.

No one driving by would have been able to see the sign. The only reason I saw it was because I was walking. Yet almost no one walks in this semi-rural area.

That truck was a perfect symbol for what so many of us do when we ask for something to manifest in our lives. We put out the sign (ask). Then we block the sign with our truck (our negative thoughts).

We’ve covered this subject in one form or another many times over the years. Yet it keeps coming up in private readings with Joseph, and in our correspondence with many folks. And almost daily I see people around me challenged and baffled by this issue.

Here’s Joseph.

Chief Joseph

Dear ones, you live in a Universe of vast abundance and well-being. Everything you could possibly imagine is literally at your fingertips. It is as easy to manifest a million dollars as it is to manifest a penny.

Your birthright, as children of the Universe, as the powerful creators you all are, is abundance, well-being, joy–all the good things you could ever possibly imagine in your life.

Now let us ask you a question: Do you believe, in your heart of hearts, what we’ve just said?

Or do you perhaps want to say something like this: "Well, Joseph, that all sounds fine. And I can see it happens some of the time for some of the people, and even for me on rare occasions. But I don’t see all that as a common experience, at least not in my life."

Or something like that–is that the way your inner dialogue might go when we say you can have it all–all your dreams?

There you have obstacle number one: your belief in scarcity is stronger than your belief in abundance.

And now let’s discuss obstacle number two.

You ask the Universe–the Great Spirit, God, Goddess–whatever name you prefer for Source Energy. You ask for something specific. Let’s use a common example. You want to manifest your perfect lover.

So you sit down and think about the wonderful qualities you want in this perfect lover. You might even write a list. Then you put your desire out to the Universe–you pray, you ask, you present your wishes in whatever way feels comfortable to you.

That SHOULD be the end of it. You’ve done all you need to do. You’ve gotten clear on what you want and you’ve asked for it.

The Universe responds instantly. It begins orchestrating all the details, aligning all the energies needed to bring you your perfect lover. It can find a thousand different ways to bring her or him to you.

All you have to do is stay out of the way. But often you don’t.

You start wondering why s/he hasn’t shown up yet. You start wondering if s/he’ll ever show up. You start looking at the troubled relationships among your friends, and you wonder if that will happen to you too. You start wondering if you’re worthy of this perfect lover, if you deserve to be that happy.

And on and on–you get the idea.

But all you really have to do, once you’ve asked, is to go about your merry business. Look for the positives in your life, in yourself, in your friends, in the world around you. You don’t even have to give your perfect lover another thought. All you have to do KNOW s/he is on the way. All you have to do is seek joy in every aspect of your life–big joys and little joys.

The more joyful you are, the more quickly and easily you will manifest your lover, or anything else you want, for that matter.

It really is that simple, dear ones. You ask. The Universe answers. Then go play and have fun. Your perfect lover is on the way. It cannot be otherwise for, as it’s been said in your bibles and in many other formats, "Ask and you shall receive."

That’s it! All you have to do is ask. Then go seek your joy, and all you wish for WILL manifest.

Manifesting is about the simplest, easiest thing you’ll ever do once you believe "Ask and you shall receive."

Message & Channeling

Greetings Everyone! What a journey this has become! Often in our lives as human beings we question what a difference we have made in our existence, how we have touched others, and others have changed our lives, our paths, or the expression of our journeys. Each of you with your loving prayers, healing, e-mails, cards, letters, and all of the other ways that you have contacted me have touched me deeply. To be so loved and so aware of it is overwhelming and I thank each of you who have taken the time to say “I care”. I love you back.

As a quick update, I did have the mastectomy 4 weeks ago. The tumor was even larger than anticipated. It was about 8 cm which is about the size of the width of your hand. It had grown to within less than a half inch of my chest wall. The tumor had developed its own capillary system which means that there is a large possibility that there are more malignant cells coursing through my body, so I am working on developing a follow-up protocol which will combine both current medical knowledge and alternative methods. The good news is that the lymph nodes were clear. I appreciate your ongoing healing and prayers as this appears to be something that I must experience in my learning process.

Often as healers, we believe that we can cure anything. I still believe this. I have known all along that there are times that we are not meant to “fix” things, as the effect of the maladies changes not only the course of the one who is experiencing the illness, but all those around that person as well. Apparently this is one of those times. The best healers in the world have been working on me since the inception of this, and yet the cancer has remained.

As I have looked around myself in this process, battling my own demons, I have realized that all of my support system, all of the people who are around me, and in many cases those who just know of me, are gaining some reflection of this experience through me. It has brought up front and center, issues beyond life and death, very human issues which have caused anger, tears, joy, light and beyond in all of our lives. The miracles are not always in the healing, but in the experience of discovery during the journey toward that healing.

So what is happening around the world? Many have contacted me the past few weeks with comments about the current energy status. The energies coming in and existent within our realm at this time are powerful and static. These energies are affecting the population in many ways. There is a polarization of the peoples which is occurring at a faster rate than usual. As the illusions which are passed to us via the media and our politicians infiltrate the consciousnesses of the masses, there are some of us who are experiencing a vast range of emotions and revelations. The coming awareness begins at first subconsciously, causing us to react from an unrecognized emotional level, and slowly rising to the forefront of our consciousness. This process is bringing to us, experiences of emotionality, and fast paced growth from deep within ourselves. The polarization will continue as we move closer to the opening of the star gate in early November. There is an astrological occurrence which will concur with the opening of the star gate. As we move into this time, we will notice more chaos in our world and in our surrounding environments. We must remember who we are in the Light, and consciously move through feelings that seem to sneak up out of nowhere.

We are in Karmic fast forward. In other words, we are in an energetic mode which allows us to clear old stuff, even that which we thought we had cleared even years ago. The time is now to recreate our realities toward a future of Light being-ness as we have strived for since we chose this path. As we do this. We are clearing not only those issues of this lifetime, but of all other lifetimes as well. We have a unique opportunity at this time unlike any other since the beginning of our consciousness, both individually and collectively, to make a difference in the universal consciousness which will bring us closer to beingness within the One. Further, these changes in consciousness will bring us closer to the critical mass which will cause the shift that we are striving for.

We are seeing changes in our climates. The wind patterns and the patterns of heating and cooling of our oceans are changing toward extremes of weather and effect environmentally. We are seeing volcanic activities and indications of coming volcanic eruptions all over the world. There are seismic changes occurring along the tectonic plates. As these occur, there becomes a necessity toward balance of our Earth mother. As one event expresses a release of tension in the surface of the Earth, there is a necessity for other releases to offset the first release which will create a balance in the tension of the planet’s surface and consciousness.

These releases also directly contribute to our energetic experiences as human beings. They change the interaction and affect of incoming energies as those energies commingle with the energies of our planet. This interaction changes how we feel, how we react in any given situation.

Further, our sun star continues to emit ejections of powerful energies which continue to move toward us, compacting the entirety of our energies and those of our planet as they careen into our atmosphere then bounce back. It is no wonder that many of you are reporting imbalance. Others of you are reporting that finally, you are experiencing the balance that you have sought for so long.

Effects of the continuing changes, especially in the acute stages such as now, are extremes of emotionality, busy dreams that seem to make no sense, or nightmares for those who never experience them. Pay attention to those dreams, they are quickly processing for you many things that you have withheld from your conscious self. Many of you are experiencing a feeling of being in a kind of a limbo, neither moving forward or backward, simply existing for the moment, all the while having a sense that there are about to be large changes in your experiences. It is true. Do not push yourself toward what you are feeling. Instead, allow your experience to unfold gently, or even powerfully, as the revelations of the coming now move into your fields of vision, bringing you the clarity that is just under the surface at this point.

We are experiencing a shift in consciousness. This shift is a precursor to larger movement of our consciousness toward Light- Beingness. What we do with the current moments determines what we receive and can therefore give in the coming ones.

Often as we attempt to understand the dynamics of our experiences we hold closely to ourselves the very energies which could propel us into new and exciting directions. Remember to relax your composition, your consciousness, your entire being and let the energies carry you into that which you have chosen. The ride will be much smoother and the lessons much more clear.

Due to my current journey, I have had to put my travel schedule on hold, probably until this winter sometime. I need to concentrate on being well and feeling that way. I will be unable to accompany Maria Gurule, my wonderful and gifted Shaman friend on her journey to Peru next month, but will be scheduling that trip again when I am able. Maria will be making the journey as scheduled and there are still a few openings. Information can be gained on my website under upcoming trips, Peru.

Also, I am not scheduling new healing sessions or readings at this time, but hope to commence in the Fall sometime. I will be contacting those of you who are waiting to be rescheduled as soon as I am able to do those sessions.

I am working on completion of my book, which is coming along beautifully. I expect to have it available to you in the next few months. The delay caused by the cancer has brought insights that would have not otherwise been included, and I feel that the book will give you much more fullness of clarity than it might have otherwise. I will be giving you more info about this very soon. I am really excited to be able to share with you those things which we have all sought, with answers for the first time available anywhere!

CH: We are honored on this occasion to come to be of assistance with you. There is a gathering of the masses within the dimensional realms in observation of that which is happening within yours. The events that are occurring are representative of a mass transition in many ways with your consciousness and the state of your energetic being.

Your Experience Is Unprecedented – You Are Coming Full Circle Back to the Beginning
The experience within this place and time is unprecedented to all others. As has been brought to you previously by others, this is the time that is as it was in the Beginning. You are about to come full circle, full circle, within your existence as it was in the Beginning. You came first as Light Beings, fully capable of any and all things connected Universally, fully a part of the One, and with complete cognizance of the principles of the One and that which is necessary for the transmutation energetically for all purposes, whether it be regeneration of any kind, healing, balancing, learning, And even reproduction at that time was done energetically.

You Are Experiencing New Energetics
Many of you are experiencing the new energetics that are coming in to you at this time. These energetics are stimulating your genetic structuring. It is signifying the arcing that we have spoken of previously. It is Lights you within many directions, in that your galactic selves are beginning to awaken.

Your galactic selves are beginning to awaken. And as this occurs within you, many of you are going to be experiencing awakenings beyond anything you have imagined. Some of these may be more subtle than others. Some of them will be as if you have been hit with a two-by-four. You will begin to feel energy in ways that you have not. Many of you will begin to understand what it is that you must do with this when it occurs. We ask that you allow it to flow through you and do not try to contain this. It is much bigger than you are.

Time is Speeding Up
All things within your realm are being affected with this energetic system that is occurring. The energies are refining, and the process has begun to rapidize. It is speeding up. It is speeding up. Time will not look the same to you from now on. Many of you have already noticed the changes that are occurring within your time perception. It is because, in the Beginning, you had no sense of this “time”. You had no need for it. And it did not exist for you.

You will be beginning to have less and less awareness of the hands on the clock and more awareness of each moment, as more will happen in a given moment than has ever happened within your observation. Simultaneously things are occurring. It is as if magic is happening. You will be able to accomplish more in one of your day’s time than you used to within a month. And you will feel good.

Your Personal Internal Thermostats Are Not Operating Appropriately
Many of you may notice that your personal internal thermostats are not operating appropriately at this time. Many of you are feeling rushes of warmth. Many of you are cold and blue. This is also a part of the energetic system which is affecting you. It is affecting you down to your particulates. Your particulates are rearranging. Your particulates are responding to the energetics which are being introduced to your systems at this time.

This Planet Is Also Being Rearranged Within Its Own Particulates
It is also at this time that this planet is being arranged within its own particulates. And all space in between. There will be, during this process, clearings both within your selves and within your planet. Certain energetics that have been trapped are going to bubble to the surface and released by each of you. Many of you will experience this in the way of emotionality, confusion, lack of focus. We ask that you allow this to happen, experience it, and do not hold on to it. There is no need, as it will pass quickly.

Unprecedented Opportunity To Clear Karma
You have the ability at this time to settle karma that you have carried throughout all of your lifetimes in a seemingly amount of no time. You are being given the opportunity to clear your karmic slate at this time. This is unprecedented, but as it was in the Beginning. You began with a clean slate, changed over time by your own choices, the occurrences related therein.

Now, Dear Ones, you are being offered freedom from within. You are being reminded of your relation to that which is perfection. And in that perfection is each of you. As you are filled with the One, and the One is you. It is a concept that is very difficult for many of you to grasp. We assure you it is so. You have within your grasp, at this moment, perfection. Perfection that is unfettered by historic baggage.

A Grace And Ease Coming From Within You
And within this occurrence you will find a new stamina within your own structuring. You will find a grace and ease coming from within you that you do not have a familiarity with. It is peace and it is perfection. It is that which is the Light magnifying and filling every crevice between every particulate that you have – signaling each to awaken and harmonize.

You Begin to Resonate Again With Universe
And within your bodies, the harmonization that is going on is creating differences within each of you. Not simple genetic differences – total harmonic differences as you begin to resonate again with Universe. To begin to beat within your energetics to the same pulse as That Which Is. That which you came from. And that which you are truly.

And as this occurs, a resonance begins to take effect. And within this resonance a new harmony is begun. And within the energetics of this harmony, others will begin to become the rhythm as well. To be a part of that which is the All. That which is a living unit. That which is all life. That which is eternal.

Look Within Yourselves For the Answers
That You Seek So we ask that you look within yourselves for the answers that you seek. For externally you will not find them. You must remember when one seeks externally and one gains an opinion of another, that opinion is based on another set of experiences, another set of circumstances, and weighed within that being and filtered within that being. And it is not necessarily that which is good and wise for you from within your own self. It only adds to your confusion.

Do you have questions to the moment?

Opportunity to Clear Karma
Q: Yes. Can you explain in a little more detail how it is we can take advantage of this opportunity to clear our karmic slate? I don’t understand how we can do that.

CH: It is, Dear One, that at this time opportunities are coming to you from all directions. They are in your face. They are coming fast and they are coming furious. They have different and varying degrees of energetics dependent upon that which you have experienced previously. Each of these moments is presenting you with an opportunity to make a choice that will change that which your path had chosen once before.

All of you within this space have evolved to a point that the karmic justice, so to speak, has much been satisfied through your evolution. It is at this time when you will find that you will be resolving many issues around you, within you, as each opportunity that comes up is a mirror to you to allow you to react and to be with any given situation. It is up to you what you do with it, but we need you to know that these opportunities are extremely rare within the Universal processes.

It is as if time has sped up for you beyond light speed, beyond light speed. And that you are being given the opportunity. Because of the energetics, all is flowing much differently – actually, in many ways, simultaneously to itself. And within this, one is able to clear and release and be truly finished with those issues which one would have been carrying for some time. Have we given you enough explanation, Dear One, or do you need further assistance?

Q: Yes, I understand. Thank you.

CH: You are most welcome.

Photon Belt
Q: This speeding up of energetics. Part of what has been predicted is called the photon belt and that we are passing through this.

CH: It is contributing to that which is occurring, Dear One. For the photon energy is light energy. It carries the vibrational energies in different ways than that which you were previously passing through. The photon belt, in its occurrence and in your passage through it and within it for this time, is allowing in a sense a more perfect passage for the energetics that are flowing and moving.

There is perfect communication within these types of energetics within the photon belt. You are just approaching and moving into this area. The further you move into it, the more perfect your experiences will become. There will be much instantaneous knowledge, knowing, as information is passed in its purest form.

Q: Will this change of energetics influence the world situation at the moment? The tensions in the Middle East…

CH: It already has begun, Dear One, by its polarization, in many ways separating the wheat from the chaff as has been written previously.You are receiving dispersals here and there, so to speak. You are still in the very early stages, and as you move forward, you will feel the high energetics and the awakenings occurring that we were speaking of previously.

Q: Could you give us a tentative, projected time guesstimate as to when our area will be into the photon belt?

CH: Dear One, we have just spoken that you are already in it.

Q: Oh, I see.

CH: It is your selves as a planet, not simply an area. The planet is moving through this and thereby with every revolution and as the Earth moves through the photon belt, there are certain amounts of energetics that are being created by the interaction of all things on and in your planet, meaning you as well.

And that with the photon energy, it is creating in your terminology a lubrication for the information and the transformation to occur much more smoothly and easily and without such crashing notice that it has arrived. But it is a gradual process that is happening with such speed and such ease that this is why we say so many changes are occurring so rapidly, and that this process is going to continue to escalate in its pace.

Q: I misunderstood. I thought you meant that we were just coming into the outer aspects, and I’m hearing you now saying that we are indeed within the photon belt.

CH: It is so, into the beginning of it. As you move further into it, it will concentrate even more perfectly around you and within you. And as it concentrates within you, that which is the Light in you, that which is the perfection within each of your particulates, is going to come alive in a way that you are not recognizing as yet. And that is what many of you are feeling at this time. It is an expansion beyond your wildest dreams that very few have ever lived to experience.

Q: About how long does it take for the Earth to move completely through it?

CH: It will be many, many years, Dear One. It is a process. It is not months or days. It is many, many years.

Q: Is it something that happens on the physical level where the scientists will notice it, or is it on some other level of consciousness?

CH: It is on the level of consciousness, and if the scientists know the appropriate way to look at this, they may also observe. But they must have a higher understanding of light energetics as well as the Universal construct and its way or ordering and communicating, and they are still stuck on the string theory. Your quantum physicists are still looking at too large a picture. They are trying to look on a more complicated structuring rather than that which is simple and perfect unto itself.

And once this is understood, and once the basic knowledge of the Universal construct is understood in such a way, then all things are possible and it is observable. But you do not at this time have the equipment that is capable of these observations for hard data.

Love Unconditionally – Each Is Having Their Own Experience That Is Perfect in the Moment
CH: You are most welcome. One must remember to love unconditionally, no matter what the circumstances are or what one thinks that another must do or experience. Each is having their own experience that is perfect in the moment. And each will choose that which is best for their path in each moment. We ask that you understand that this is part of a process that must occur for various reasons.

Q: Thank you.

CH: You are most welcome.

New Energies Enhance Healing Skills – Use Them With Respect and Humility
Q: The new energies coming in – are they enhancing our healing skills as they come?

CH: It is so. They are magnifying them intensely. Be careful where you aim your energy, Dear One, as its effects are changing rapidly and rising in occurrence. One must carry this with much respect and utilize it with much humility as it is a powerful, powerful energy that you are bringing through from now forward – and will continue to escalate.

Q: I don’t understand the warning.

CH: We simply tell you that one must not use it lightly – that is all. One must utilize this in such a way and only with the permission and participation of the other beings who are involved. Do you see?

Q: Yeah.

CH: When this is in occurrence and all intents and all willingness is directed into that state of wholeness and healing, it will be so in a much more pure and quick way than that which you are accustomed to seeing within your realm.

Q: I don’t understand your use of the term “use it lightly”.

CH: One moment – we will attempt to find vocabulary to express that which we are trying to help you to understand. One must utilize these gifts only when requested, not inadvertently or indiscriminately. You see, it is that the highest and best healing will occur and does occur when the receptive being is in a place of acceptance and willingness to be whole and well.

We do not mean that one would not send healing to regions or to groups of people in this way – we do not mean this. What we mean is that to direct healing at individuals who have not requested it is in many ways not affecting the being in ways that are high and best beneficial to them, as they are not receptive and open to the highest and best benefit. Do you see? That is what we mean.

Q: If we have offered it and somebody has then requested it, that is okay?

CH: That is fine.

Q: Okay. How about children? pre-talking children?

CH: For the most part, they do not need your assistance. They have gifts of their own. They have far more understandings than most of you as adults. They are taught to forget them. This does not apply to a child who is ill, of course.

Q: Okay. Are you saying we can’t send general love and light?

CH: No, we are not saying that. We are speaking specifically of the high healing energies that you asked about utilizing.

Q: Thank you.

CH: You are most welcome. And we are grateful for your enthusiasm into utilizing this for its highest and best use, as this is a much different energy than most have been working with previously – than all have been working with previously.

God Particle
Q: A lot of the physicists have been talking about a god particle – is that the same thing …

CH: The particulates.

Q: Huh?

CH: It is the particulates of which all things are made.

Q: Yeah. Okay.

Mayan Year of 2012
Q: Is the Mayan year of 2012 still considered significant when you talk about the photon belt?

CH: It is significant – yes – within the interstellar relations of the time.

Q: And what would that significance be?

CH: It is that there is a certain alignment that will be occurring at that time. During that alignment, the energetics will be within perfection for certain events to take place that we are not given to give to you at this moment.

We tell you that, as has been given to you previously, in South America in that which is currently called Peru, that there is a settlement that is covered in jungle still that is basically undiscovered and unexplored. Therein resides a pyramid that is in perfect alignment with that which we are speaking. It is that which will explain the planetary harmonics and contains information to those events and occurrences. It is within this pyramid that all of this information has been given.

Q: When you said that, I just got Palenque. Is it near there?

CH: It is in a flatter area than Machu Picchu. It is in a much flatter area to the north and to the east. It is within several hundred miles of that which you have asked. Three to four hundred miles.

Q: And will it be revealed or discovered and be known by 2012?

CH: We are looking. At this moment, it is possible, that the information will have come fully forward by that time. It is, however, necessary to make a correct interpretation of the information to be gained there as well as dissemination and acceptance of that information to and by the populace.

Having always been intuitive, Meg’s gifts came to her naturally in a progression of what she calls “cosmic two by fours”. Meg began exploring higher consciousness alone on a mountain at her residence in North Carolina. As she began to access higher and higher consciousness, Meg also began to see and understand the dynamics of energy. She combined the aspects of higher consciousness, energy, movement and music which later developed into her popular workshop “Movement to Spirit”.

This combination created a perfect energetic situation for inter-dimensional access which Meg calls “Seventh Sense Attunement”... Beyond the sixth sense and into holographic reality. During this learning process, the Ascended Masters began to appear holographically, instructing Meg in the art of inter-dimensionality, healing, and, as she later understood, in Universal Consciousness.

Tapping into the Universal Mind became second nature for Meg as she explored the inter-dimensional realms. She began to pull in information on virtually any subject that came up. She began to understand the sciences such as physics, astrophysics, quantum physics, biochemistry to name a few. She learned to be able to tap into the Universal processes for virtually any type of information.

Meg learned to multi-facet her consciousness so that she could learn many things at once, all in different dimensions and with different Masters. She became practiced at being both the participant and the observer, remaining aware of all of her aspects simultaneously. The Masters began to “step in” and show Meg how the energies worked and how to apply them within the Universal construct to affect change in all ways by using herself as a pure Channel. She now uses these techniques in all aspects of her life and work.

Meg credits her experience to “paying attention, having absolutely no expectations, a huge amount of passion to learn, and most of all to a deep sense of humility. She says ”…once you realize the bigger picture, you understand that you are a part of all things, all things being you…and there is no turning back.” She believes that everyone has the same capabilities for this experience, once they begin to understand how to use the tools, and Meg is happy to teach them!

Project of Love and Thanks to Water 

The 25th day of each month the "Project of Love and Thanks to Water" hopes you will join them to Purify All the Water on Earth with Love and Thanks.

Will you join us to say "I love you" and "Thank you" to all the water on Planet Earth and fill it with the highest vibration (HADO) of Love and Thanks that we can possibly experience?

Please join us to send our Love and Thanks to all the water in our physical body that has been sustaining and nurturing our lives on this planet. 70% of our body is made of water. We owe so much our health to the water in our body.

Then, let us send our Love and Thanks to all the water on Planet Earth. 70% of the surface of the Earth is occupied by water. The environment on planet Earth is maintained by the water circulating in various forms. If it had not been for water, life would not have been created on planet Earth.

We have a vision that on this day, our Earth will be filled with beautiful golden/silver light of Love and Thanks that is flowing from the hearts of each and every one of us. Golden/silver light is the highest vibration in the range of visible light, and it will heal and cleanse all the water on earth, be it water of the ocean or that of our own body.

You can join this Project at your home with your family and friends by sending your Love and Thanks to water simultaneously with us.

Water is the most ordinary matter on this planet, but at the same time it is multidimensional and connected deeply with our own consciousness. By sending our Love and Thanks to water, we believe that we cannot only purify the water on this planet but also raise our own collective consciousness towards the peace of world.

We will describe several ways to send Love and Thanks to water for your information. You can follow some of them. Or you can develop your own unique ways.

Let us tell water our Love and Thanks

Put a glass of water on a table in your kitchen, dining room or private room. Tell the water "I love you" and "Thank you", gently. At the same time, briefly visualize that all the water on Earth is connected with each other. You can do this with your children, family members and friends. Your Love and Thanks will be sent out to all the water on Earth through the water in the glass.

How about imagining the following when you are touching the water coming from the faucet while doing the dishes, washing rice before cooking, or washing your clothes? The vibration of your Love and Thanks is overflowing from your heart through your chest, shoulders, and arms, and going through your palms that are touching the water into the water going out into a drain pipe. Your vibration will go through the flow of water very easily into the drain, into the nearby rivers and finally enter the ocean. The vapor from the ocean will build clouds and then the water will fall down as rains onto various parts of the world. In this way, the vibration of Love and Thanks that has originated from your heart will be transmitted to all over the world through the water network. This is a very easy way, and you can do this every day and every time you use water.

An easier way will be just to tell gently "I love you" and "Thank you" to the water that is flowing out into a drain pipe after it has finished its role. This will surely change the vibration of the water.

It is also very effective to put a "Thank you" sticker to the surface of the faucet. Every time you turn the faucet, it will remind you of the importance to express your gratitude to water.

Or, if you want to do it a little bigger, then you can have a gathering around a pond, a lake, a river or along seashore. Then make a circle, holding hands, and say the same thing as above or more. Remember that the power of prayer is proportionate to the square of the number of people. You can add to this ceremony your own prayers that express your Love and Thanks toward water or Planet Earth.

As the vibration of your Love and Thanks flows from your heart, you may feel your chest getting warmer and warmer. This will be the result of the Law of the Universe "What you give, you will receive". Add visualization to our Love and Thanks

Let us visualize that the vibration of Love and Thanks is transmitting into water as golden/silver light. The whole water of the world is sparkling beautifully. Finally, the whole planet is shining so brilliantly. When filled with the highest vibration of light, everything is healed and harmonized. Let us visualize that the faces of all the people on Earth are filled with a smile.

Send Love and Thanks to water in some special areas

How about sending our Love and Thanks to the Jordan River, especially at this moment of time (see photo on the right). Along the river, many Israeli and Palestinian people are living. Our prayer of Love and Thanks will raise the vibration of water there. There is no border in the path of flowing water. People on both sides certainly drink the water originating from this river, and their bodies will be filled with the vibration of Love and Thanks that we have been sending. Then, those who have been involved in the war or terrorism will become aware of what they are doing, "Why don't we just abandon weapons and live a peaceful life here together?"

There may be some areas other than the Jordan River where wars and conflicts are still continuing such as the United States and Iraq, India and Pakistan, Afghanistan, nations in Africa and so on. Let us send our Love and Thanks to the water where people are suffering from pain and sorrow. It will change into healing water, and everything and everybody will be filled with a vibration of Love and Harmony.

Those who are participating in war and those who are suffering from war are both ourselves. For all the consciousnesses are connected into one. And it is said that water is a mirror to reflect our own consciousness.

Peace begins from the hearts of each and every one of us. Let us fill up our hearts with the vibration of Love and Thanks. Then visualize that the vibration is overflowing like an unlimited fountain, reaching every part of the globe and healing the whole world.

Effects of our consciousness on water

Our consciousness definitely influences upon water. Especially when we concentrate our consciousness with the same intention, it will have a tremendous power. It is like a laser beam that can reach the surface of the moon.

In the summer of 1999, hundreds of people gathered along the lakeshore of the Lake Biwa, located at the central part of Japan, and prayed for the peace and harmony of universe. After one month, a local newspaper reported that only that summer, there were no complaints from local residents about the foul odor resulting from extraordinary growth of a foreign alga, which they had been experiencing every summer for years.

Such is the power of human consciousness.

Consciousness of each of us changes the world

Consciousness of each of us creates our world, which means we can change the world. When the Earth is filled with the vibration of Love and Thanks, then you will experience a world filled with Love and Thanks.

New Moon Cetacean Meditation

The New Moon Cetacean Meditation begins at 6:00 PM your local time on Wednesday, August 27, 2003. The New Moon (and the Full Moon) energy is a powerful one and is always an important time to state and manifest our intentions. Also, the planet Mars is reported to be closer to Earth on this day than it has been in almost 60,000 years, adding it's energies.

During this global meditation let us join and "dedicate ten (10) minutes to meditate upon the Cetaceans (whales and dolphins), to acknowledge their service to humanity and to Earth, and to send them our love energy so that they can at last feel the connection with their brothers and sisters on land."

Using the galactic calendar, we can focus on the k'in or day during the New Moon Cetacean meditation (and every day) as well as the message for the galactic month, allowing us to flow with Mother Earth and experience galactic time.

On this day of 5 Cauac, 12 Uo, 12 Manik (August 27, 2003), the energy is "Radiance"(5) and "Regeneration" (Cauac). For this meditation, the direction is West and the musical tone is "D". Cauac is the "Black Storm" or the "Restorer" and represents the "regeneration of self" and our "preparation for ascension". Black is very magical. It is the void. It transforms or manifests our intention and thought into physical reality.

As we direct our attention on the energies of Cauac as the Black Storm, we feel very cleansed and rejuvenated, as a storm would do. Visualize a storm and see it leaving everything, including ourselves, new, refreshed and youthful. This cleansing will assist us in our manifestations, magically transmuting our intentions so we can see them clearly as they physically appear. Focusing on the energy of Radiance will assist us in bringing happiness, joy and light into our lives, which speeds up the manifestation process.

During our meditation we can place our attention on the energies of Black, Radiance, Regeneration, this galactic month of Uo and this new galactic year of 12 Manik. This month of Uo requires that we "listen in silence and hear the oracles of Heaven". By focusing on all of these energies, we gain mastery over our lives and allow ourselves to receive our desires easily and quickly.

Also, understand that the Cetaceans are always eager to telepathically communicate with us and we are to connect with them along with our meditation. They assist us in bringing love, joy, inspiration, healing and balance into our lives. They are the caretakers of our planet Earth, protecting the biosphere. We can tune in with the Cetaceans, sending them Love energy and thanking them for their service.

The New Moon is the perfect time to state your intentions clearly to the Universe. The creative energies at this time are exceptionally powerful and it is to your advantage to use it. One way to state your intentions and desires is to make a list of everything you want to see made manifest.

Write the date at the top of a sheet of paper and actually make a list of everything you desire. When you are finished, add the words, "May all these intentions and desires manifest for the Highest good of all" at the top or bottom of your paper. You may also add names of your spirit guides, Ascended Masters or angels to the paper if you wish, for even more power. Do not share this list with anyone and keep it close to you in a private place, such as in your wallet or purse. Read this list each day just before going to sleep and first thing upon awakening. Then forget about it. This is your releasing process. Don't worry if it's working or not, just let it go. The Universe will handle the rest. As your desires manifest, and they will, remember to cross them off of your list. This very powerful exercise can be done on each New or Full Moon.

World Angel Day
September 28, 2003

Throughout the world on this day, people will be celebrating the unconditional love expressed through the angels. It is a day of Unity, Light, Joy and Peace, when we come together to recognize the divinity within ourselves. This year we have a program especially designed to help each person individually to recognize his or her soul's desire and how the angelic kingdom can assist us with living and fulfilling our dreams and desires. Rev. Kimberly Marooney, author of the popular Angel Blessing Cards, will be with us to share a special interactive experience with the angels, involving guided meditations, writing and audience participation, where every individual will be connected with their own angel to work with. We feel a very strong resonance with Kimberly's work, and in fact what she has offered to bring to World Angel Day was exactly what we envisioned for this event. What she is going to be presenting she has not presented in this form before, and she is very excited about the opportunity of doing so at this event, as are we.

My lovely wife Tanja, who has worked with angels for years as a healer will be helping us all connect with the Joy of the angels. Her gift is to share the childlike Joy that the angels inspire. It was the original Peace Angels that brought us together last year, and it was always her destiny to be a part of World Angel Day. We spent several weeks together with David, the creator of World Angel Day, and we all shared a deep resonance to cocreating this work around the world.

Last year the Peace Angels came to me to bring a series of messages that inspired Choose Peace Now and the work of the previous World Angel Day event in Boulder. We have also created this event to be a special musical experience. Lauren Pomerantz who sang at the first Christ Light Festival is returning to be one of our musical hosts throughout the day, to carry us on a musical journey of the soul with her beautiful voice and gift for playing instruments like crystal bowls and guitar at the same time. We have also invited our local favorites Twin Flame the Peaceful Warriors. Last year their music added the silver lining to our event and this year promises to be filled with angelic blessings of Peace for ourselves and the world.

This years World Angel Day event will be held at the beautiful Temple Event Center in downtown Denver. This auditorium is a wonderful mix between a temple, church, and theater with balconies, ornamental ceilings and stained glass windows. We feel that this place is the perfect setting for invoking the energies of the Archangels, whose presence we want to feel and cocreate with on a deep physical level through this event. The ballroom below the auditorium is used weekly for the Dances of Universal Peace, and the circular movement of Peace that takes place there creates an inviting atmosphere in the building which is perfect for our purpose since Peace is the foundation.

In Joy and Laughter

Goodbye

A father put his three year old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to her prayers - which she ended by saying "God bless mommy, God bless daddy, God bless grandma, and good-bye grandpa."

The father said, "Why did you say good-bye grandpa?"

The little girl said, "I don't know daddy, it just seemed like the thing to do."

The next day grandpa died. Father thought it was a strange coincidence. A few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers, which went like this - "God bless mommy, God bless daddy and good-bye grandma.

Next day the grandmother died.

My gosh, thought the father, this kid is in contact with the other side.

Several weeks later when the girl was going to bed the dad heard her say "God bless mommy and good-bye daddy."

He practically went into shock. Couldn't sleep all night and got up at the crack of dawn to go to his office. He was nervous as a cat all day, had lunch sent in and watched the clock. He figured if he could get by until midnight he would be OK. He felt safe in the office, so instead of going home at the end of the day he stayed there, drinking coffee, looking at his watch and jumping at every sound. Finally midnight arrived, he breathed a sigh of relief and went home.

When he got home his wife said, "I've never seen you work so late, what's the matter?"

He said, "I don't want to talk about it, I've just spent the worst day of my life."

She said "You think you had a bad day, you'll never believe what happened to me. This morning the mailman dropped dead on our porch."
